Welcome to the Center for Funeral Media Studies! Since 1980, our media trainers have been conducting media relations, media response and crisis management training for professionals around the world.
Today, given the increasingly tabloid mentality of the media, the stakes are much to high for any funeral service organization to put aside or overlook media relations and media response training. The mission of our NFDA endorsed and nationally accredited "Mastering the Media" video-based training courses and "live" seminars is to have you and your funeral service organization prepared to "meet the press". The Center teaches a proactive and comprehensive approach to media response and media relations planning and implementation. In an interesting and interactive format, funeral service professionals are shown how to proactively and positively respond to and relate with the media - television, radio, and print.
The skills and tools taught in both "Mastering The Media" seminar and video-based training, go beyond those critical just to media response and clearly demonstrate the value of being able to be a "high touch" communicator in a "high tech" world. Along with learning how to proactively respond to and relate with the media, you will also learn about partnering with the media to promote your business. The training's also teach effective public speaking, communications and public relations skills that can be incorporated into your existing marketing, advertising and public relations programs.
The Center for Funeral Media Studies (CFMS) is also available for customized seminars on image enhancement and advanced media management techniques. We have prepared clients for interviews from local media, to network news, to programs such as "Dateline NBC", "20/20", "60 Minutes", and "CNN".
